Reading/Language Arts: Enemy Pie! 3rd- 8th Grade
Our new reading/language arts workshop focuses on the skills you’ve asked for! We target many basic reading skills such as vocabulary, context clues, synonyms, antonyms and multiple meaning words, cause and effect, fact and opinion, as well as prefixes and suffixes. We also offer writing activities in this workshop that include a capitalization, punctuation and spelling game. This day is packed with games and activities from the handout as well as the wonderful reading and language arts ready-made games. At the end of this very busy day, you can choose your favorite games to put in your gift bag. This workshop is full of ingredients for success and friendship! No enemies at this workshop!
Reading/Language Arts: Flying High! K-2nd Grade
This fun-filled day provide lots and lots of intervention and teaching strategies! This workshop focuses on activities that engage our young learners with vocabulary words and each other. Research shows that vocabulary development is critical for young learners, so this workshop is full of games that involve talking, sorting, identifying, defining, and ordering. We will target vocabulary, sequencing, plurals, compound words, sorting, characteristics, and much more. The activities and games in the handout are designed for differentiated instruction and are easily adaptable for grades K-2. The workshop ends with each participant choosing games to take back to their classrooms for immediate use! Teachers will be flying high by the end of the day!
Writing: Tools for Student Success! 3rd-7th Grade
This is a full day workshop for teachers in grades 3-7 and is based on our writing activity book. The day will begin with a review of the writing objectives followed by fun and innovative games, techniques, and strategies aimed toward improving writing skills. For this very special workshop, each participant receives their own copy of our Classroom Activity Series Writing Book! This fast-paced day will close with a
one-of-a-kind opportunity where each participant will create their own unique gift bag.
(The writing workshop is for option 1 or option 2 only because the writing book is included as a part of the Build-a-Bag activity, but with a substantial savings! For option 2, each teacher chooses an additional $45 worth of materials. For option 1, each teacher receives an additional $75 worth of materials.)
Science: Mind Over Matter! 3rd-8th Grade
Want to have fun learning new and exciting ways to teach science? We will focus on four major areas of science: Nature of Science, Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science. Our activities and games will help your students develop a greater understanding of basic facts, while building their science vocabulary. This workshop focuses on science equipment and its uses, ecosystems, life cycles, states of matter, simple machines, constructive and destructive forces, the rock cycle, and the solar system. We will target vocabulary in all of the areas that are tested. Come prepared to have a blast and leave with a gift bag full of our ready-made games. We will put mind over matter and have a ball!
Science: It Matters to Me! K-2nd Grade
This fun, hands-on workshop explores the nature of science, life science, earth science, and physical science in a variety of ways that will leave teachers wanting more! This workshop includes interactive games and activities for skills such as scientific inquiry, patterns, living and non-living things, life cycles, food chains, matter, and weather. Vocabulary is the main focus for this workshop. After going through the handout and playing our ready-made games, teachers will get to choose their own unique games for their gift bags. This workshop will prove that science matters to us and so do teachers!
Math: Mathematics Round-Up! K-2nd Grade
This fun-filled day provide lots and lots of intervention and teaching strategies for math! Teachers will love all of the hands-on games and activities included in the handout. Some of the skills this workshop presents includes number recognition, greater than/less than, addition/subtraction facts, problem solving, geometric shapes, sorting, time, and money. Saddle up for this stampede of fun, laughter, and great ideas! Teachers will leave with trail-blazing, ready-made games of their choice!
Math: Math Champions! 3rd-8th Grade
You’ll feel like a champion after you attend this awesome math workshop! This hands-on workshop includes instructional and intervention strategies, application and questioning techniques, and pre-game and post-game activities. Some of the skills addressed in the handout are expanded, written, and standard forms of numbers, multiplication/division, decimal, fraction and percent, geometric shapes, number lines, and problem solving. Teachers get to choose from a large variety of our ready-made math games for their gift bag. Want to feel like a winner? Then, this workshop is for you!
